Alvin Stardust, confirmed to perform on The Good Time Guide Stage at GuilFest also on Saturday 17th July, is without a doubt one of the UK's most well known singer songwriters. Alvin shot to stardom in the 70's - he had already had four hit singles under the name of Shane Fenton, but 'My Coo Ca Choo', his début single as Alvin Stardust, was massive. It became a huge international No.1 hit and spent over six months in the charts. Numerous hits followed throughout the world, including 'Jealous Mind', 'You, You, You', 'Red Dress', and 'Good Love'. Music Week even awarded Alvin "Best Male Recording Artist" and at the British Pop Awards Alvin won "Best Live Performance". Alvin's success continued into the 80s, where he scored more even more hits and continued touring round the world, and since then he has appeared in numerous TV shows, including Hollyoaks, Harry Hill's TV Burp and Doctors. Organisers are delighted to welcome this legend to Stoke Park for the first time this July.

Indie post-punk rockers, The Young Knives, will be performing on Sunday 18th July on the Main Stage at GuilFest 2010. Known for their energetic live performances and their taste in tweed outfits, The Young Knives hit the big time with the critical success of the début album “...Are Dead” in 2002. Further national recognition was achieved 3 years later with the release of their hit single “The Decision” in 2005. Their next two albums achieved top 40 status, and the band was nominated for a Mercury Music prize in 2007. Since then, The Young Knives have toured the globe, supporting huge acts such as The Kaiser Chiefs – Catch 'em for the first time at GuilFest this year in Stoke Park.
