Duck Sauce Featured On Pitchfork
It's been nearly a year since we heard from Duck Sauce, the DJ superduo of A-Trak and Armand Van Helden, who released their debut single "aNYway" last fall. Now, A-Trak and Armand have returned with a new single, "Barbra Streisand", set to drop October 12 via Fool's Gold (that's the unfuckingbelievable cover art above).
And just as "aNYway" yielded a pretty awesome video, the clip for "Barbra Streisand", directed by So-Me (Justice, Kanye West) is similarly sweet, featuring tons of locale-shot NYC footage, as well as enough star cameos (Kanye! Pharrell! Ezra Koenig! Chromeo!) to keep you counting the famous people until you have a headache from staring at your computer screen.

Contact Music : Example "Inundated With Underwear"
'Watch The Sun come Up' singer Example said he's had enough bras thrown onstage to ''build a house'' out of.
Example said he's had enough bras thrown onstage to "build a house" out of.
The 'Last Ones Standing' singer said he's surprised by the amount of female underwear that gets thrown at him during performances, but has perfected the art of sending it back into the crowd.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I had a 34DD bra thrown on stage last night. While I was performing a song, I'm quite capable of reading and rapping at the same time, and then getting the bra and throwing it back into the crowd.
"I don't keep them, or I'd probably have enough to build a house out of bras. But I don't think that means I'm a sex symbol does it?"
"I haven't had any little bras thrown at me yet. Which surprised me a bit, because I would expect more little bras - the girls with big bras need more support than the girls with little bras.
"But quite the opposite happens."
Example was speaking ahead of tomorrow's 'Arthur's Day' celebrations, which mark the signing of the lease on St. James's Gate, in Dublin, Ireland, by Guinness beer's founder, Arthur Guinness, 250 years ago.
Parties are being held around the world, and Example is part of a huge bill in the country's capital which also includes Westlife, Manic Street Preachers, The Script, Brandon Flowers and Flo Rida.
Example - real name Elliot John Gleave - also added he loves the crowds in the country, saying: "I've played in Ireland eight times this year, and I played Dublin last night, and they're a good crowd there, pretty loony - which I mean in the nicest possible day."

Last Ones Standing featured on All Gigs
Elliot "Example" Gleave returns with the fourth single release from his second studio album, 'Won't Go Quietly'. Produced by Swedish sensation Bjorn Yttling of Peter, Bjorn and John, 'Last Ones Standing' has catchy stabbing synth beats alongside a killer chorus which showcases the talent that earned Example a silver selling record status. Released via Ministry Of Sound Recordings with featured remixes by the likes of Benny Benassi, 'Last Ones Standing' is club-ready and will easily be appreciated by those on the dancefloor.
Leaning toward hip-house, Example has not only managed to distance himself from the obvious Calvin Harris comparisons but has also carved out a unique sound within the market. Having done the festival rounds this summer, fans are now able to catch Example's set as he hits the town with a 14-date UK headline tour in September/October along with supporting Faithless in November/December.

Mumzy Stranger Interviewed by British Hip Hop
In an era of generic urban music, Mumzy Stranger is set to blast onto the UK scene with a style that is entirely his own. Raised in Plaistow by Bengali parents, Mumzy’s music blends the bhangra and Bollywood beats of his childhood with the New Jack Swing riffs and reggae-inspired rhythms of his teenage years.
Whether he’s rapping or singing, producing or songwriting, Mumzy Stranger’s wide-ranging musical abilities set him apart from the masses.
Now signed to Rishi Rich’s Tiffin Beats label, Mumzy is ready to unleash his distinct blend of bashment-flavoured R&B on the world in the form of his seductive new single Fly With Me.
Mumzy Stranger meets British Hip Hop Miss San San:
Hey Mumzy! You have had an amazing year and also won Best Urban Asian Act at Brit Asia Music Awards 2010, how do you feel about your success?
Mumzy Stranger: Amazing! This year has been a whirlwind and winning Best Urban Asian Act at the Brit Asia awards was one the highlights of the year so far! It’s all thanks to the fans; I wouldn’t be achieving so much if it wasn’t for their support.
Rishi Rich helped to get your foot into the door and he’s been associated with major mainstream names such as Craig David, Britney Spears, Ricky Martin and Mary J Blige. How has your journey been with Rishi and where do see it headed in the future?
Mumzy Stranger: My journey with Rishi has been amazing since the beginning; it’s crazy to think that I am working with such a talented producer who has worked with so many great mainstream artists. He has been a great mentor to me and has taught me so much over the past few years and I can only see our journey going further up!
You produced your new single Fly With Me entirely alone, where did you get your inspiration for the new track ‘Fly With Me’?
Mumzy Stranger: The inspiration came from pure imagination rather than reality, I just wanted to write a song that makes people feel good and just be free away from problems that’s why I wrote “Fly With Me” as the title speaks for itself.
What do you want to achieve from your music?
Mumzy Stranger: For it to be listened to and enjoyed by the public!
What has been your most memorable musical highlight so far?
Mumzy Stranger: Oh there’s been so many! For this year it would be receiving the Best Asian Urban Act at the Brit Asia Awards as it was my first award that I have won so far. Also being one of the few Asian acts to perform ever on the National lottery with Preeya Kalidas was a great experience!

The Wanted Cover Example's Kickstarts
The Wanted's version of Example's Kickstarts going to be a B Side to their new single and was the winner of a Wanted Fan vote;
Popdash Meets Example
2010 has been undeniably the year of Example. The man whose mum calls him Elliot Gleave has owned the Summer season with every festival, party and holiday bouncing to his tunes including Popdash anthem ‘Kickstarts’. in the week he released his new single ‘’, we caught up with him to chat all about his amazing year, his plans for a new album and just why it is he said Jedward were ‘shit’ and Alexandra Burke is ‘terrible’.
PopDash: How would you describe the past year in the life of Example?
Example: It’s been a bit of a circus really. Non-stop madness from one day to the next. It’s been non-stop touring, festivals, I’ve released four singles and I’m releasing another at Christmas then starting work on my next album so I’ve never stopped really. I’ve had no time to reflect at all.
PD: Have you got a holiday planned for when it’s all over?
E: My next day off is on Christmas Day.
PD: What’s been your highlight of everything so far?
E: The festivals have been amazing. Playing to that many people and everyone enjoying it and coming up and saying how good it was afterwards is pretty incredible. When I wrote ‘Kickstarts’ I knew it was a potential hit but for it to stay in the Top 20 for fourteen weeks was incredible. That’s probably my highlight actually, having that sort of song of the Summer. People come up to me and tell me it’s their Summer anthem, or it’s their holiday romance song and that’s just amazing.
PD: Do you feel accepted by the world of pop or do you feel like a bit of an outsider?
E: Well obviously my first album came out on Mike Skinner’s label and it wasn’t a pop album. It got a bit of radio play but it didn’t chart highly and didn’t sell all that well but now I’m selling the amount of albums pop stars sell. Having said that I don’t feel like a pop star as much because I’m not working with the same writer and producers those people do and I don’t perform or act like them, I’m quite outspoken too. Everyone else is too safe, I speak my mind and nobody else will do that because they’re too scared.
PD: Do you regret anything you’ve said about people in the past?
E: Not really. I think people expect people in the public eye to have no opinion on what’s going on around them. If you go to your local pub or hang around with your friends I guarantee there will be people there who’ll tell you Jedward are shit or that the new Alexandra Burke single is rubbish yet when I say it people chastise me on the internet and say I shouldn’t be so rude. Quite frankly I think if other people aren’t going to say things then I will.
PD: Why do you think pop stars are scared to have opinions or be outspoken?
E: I think it’s because they’re not in control if their own careers. They have a lot of people making decisions for them, they have people writing their songs and styling them and creating their artwork. It’s all done for them. I do everything myself so it doesn’t matter if I slate people as long as I keep delivering big songs.

Radio One Newsbeat : Example Working With Snow Patrol
Example has revealed he has been writing material for his forthcoming third album with Snow Patrol.
"I like co-writes but I'm very selective about who I work with," he told Newsbeat.
Example is a "massive fan" of the northern Irish rockers, he said.
The rapper revealed he'd also like to collaborate with Kasabian, "one of my all-time favourites."
'Grunge' direction
Example, who released his second album Won't Go Quietly in June, has already written 6 or 7 track for his third album which he anticipates he'll complete in January for a summer 2011 release.
"With this next album I'm trying to apply grunge sentiments and lyrics to dance music," he said.
"Hopefully I'll come out with a massive trance record or dupstep record with a vocal that Kurt Cobain or Pearl Jam would be proud of.
"Nobody else is doing that. I want to get away from this typical electro pop tag."
Preliminary titles for new songs include Shot Yourself In The Foot Again, Under The Influence, Lying To Yourself and Change The Way You Kiss Me.
"It's all very personal," admits Example. "All about messed up love. There's no such thing as a perfect relationship - all love is messed up."
The producer, singer and songwriter also revealed he recently rejected the chance to feature on a new track with girl-group The Saturdays.
"I don't really work with people I don't know. Had I been mates with them then I might have worked with them," he said.
"If you just call me up and say, 'Do you want to do a feature on this girl band's or boy band's song?' If I don't know them from Adam I'm not doing it. It's nothing personal."

Example Featured On Alt Sounds
With two Top 10 smash hit singles this year and a Top 5 silver selling album, Example has taken the UK chart by storm, making the release of his brand new single ‘Last Ones Standing’ a force to be reckoned with, released through Ministry Of Sound Recordings on 12th September.
Produced by Swedish pop experimentalist Bjorn Yttling (Peter, Bjorn and John), the synth driven electro pop beats and rousing killer chorus of ‘Last Ones Standing’ have already made their way into Zane Lowe’s arsenal and the track has received its first radio play on Radio 1 an impressive eight weeks upfront of release.
Festival season has been invaded by the monster that is Example live and this summer has already seen him tear down the house, tents and stages of some of the UK’s biggest gigs including Glastonbury, Wireless, Oxegen, T In the Park, the iTunes Festival and travelling across to the Balearics where he’s hosting the White Isle’s hottest DJ residency this season at Ibiza Rocks.
‘Last Ones Standing’ marks the next stage in a phenomenal year for Example. The in your face anthem, ‘Won’t Go Quietly’, launched Example well and truly into the chart stratosphere earlier this year going silver and recent summer smash ‘Kickstarts’’ looks set to be his biggest hit to date with over 4 million YouTube hits already, also reaching silver sales. This coupled with major TV appearances on T4, MTV, Big Brother, Hollyoaks Music Show and Britain’s Got More Talent have made Example one of the most exciting acts to break in 2010.
Example’s army of ever-growing fans will be able to catch him live throughout September and October during his 14-date UK headline tour, as well as the Faithless tour November / December
‘Last Ones Standing’ is OUT NOW through Ministry Of Sound and includes remixes from Benny Benassi, Manhattan Clique, TC and Doctor P.

The Sun : Roll Deep Team Up With Alesha
"ROLL DEEP have drummed up a great special guest on their next single. The chart-topping grime crew, who are nominated for Best UK act at this year's MOBOs, have teamed up with ALESHA DIXON on new song Take Control.
Alesha has a long association with the UK's underground music scene having scored several hits with her old garage group MIS-TEEQ. She recently returned to the fray with comeback track Drummer Boy. Now one of the country's most popular pop singers, she has lent her vocals to the crew for the new track which they hope will follow both recent singles, Good Times and Green Light, to the top spot.
Roll Deep member TARGET told me: "Everyone was thinking we were gonna be working with THE SATURDAYS after The Sun's story last week.
"We already had the song recorded, we just needed to find somebody to vocal it. We thought a lot about who we were going to approach and Alesha seemed like a really good idea. We've known her since her Mis-Teeq days, and she was great to work with."
Target explained that the new song fits in with the last two releases, with all three together telling a story.
He said: "It's a similar tempo and vibe to the last two tracks.Good Times is like finishing work, ready for a night out. Green Light is when you're in the club and you spot and girl, then Take Control is what happens after. It's like the last part of the trilogy"
The lads will be hoping for a hat trick of number ones with this new single.
With Alesha on board they'll definitely Take Control of the charts... Take Control will be debuted on Target's 1Xtra show tonight at 7pm.
The song is released on October 31 with album Winner Stays On released November 1"

Example Interviewed By Dance Pop
It's fair to say that 2010 has been a monster year for Example. With two Top 10 singles under his belt, followed by a Top 10 album, the rapper-come-dance star has never been bigger. We caught up with Elliot as he prepares for another big hit...
Your new album takes on a completely different sound from your previous work. What inspired you to move from hip-hop into the dance direction?
"Nothing really inspired me as such. It just happened naturally. I got bored of listening to hip-hop and became more interested in rave music and dubstep and old bands from the '70s. Whether or not you can hear that in my music doesn't matter. I basically just stopped finding inspiration in the same places as I did for my first album. And my third album will be different again."
But will you be keeping to the dance sound?
"I am definitely going to stick with dance music rather than hip hop but I'll move freely between electro house, dubstep, drum 'n' bass and whatever else tickles my fancy. I'm listening to mostly grunge music from the '90s whilst I write this album but all the music is inspired by techno and trance."
Tell us about the new single 'Last Ones Standing'. How did it come about?
"I wrote the song in a few hours. I was in Sweden working on the song with Bjorn Yttling, from Peter, Bjorn and John, and it just flowed out of me naturally. I wrote the lyrics "we're on the run" and then "she's like a gun" and then decided to make the song about this Bonnie and Clyde type couple who head out into the night and paint the town red."

Example Interviewed By M Is For Music
"Elliot Gleave, better know as Example has had a phenomenal year. Starting out in the music industry nearly 7 years ago the UK MC/singer has finally had his break with his breakthrough album “Won’t Go Quietly” gaining him critical acclaim and chart success alike, reaching #4 in the UK Charts as well as 4 massive singles from the album all making the UK Top 40. We caught up with Example to talk about his year, what it was like playing the festival circuit and who he likes/dislikes in music at the minute. Enjoy!
Hi Example, thanks for taking the time to speak to MisforMusic.com, how are you?
I’m the busiest I’ve ever been in my life but loving it. If I told you my diary recently you’d get bored and fall asleep
2010 has really been your year with “Won’t Go Quietly”. Are you surprised at the success you’ve achieved or did you think it was only a matter of time considering there was already hype surrounding you with the likes of Zane Lowe and Pete Tongue playing your records?
I’m not surprised. I’ve been working hard at this game for 6 years and I’ve come to realise when you have written a great song you can see it’s potential. Saying that though I don’t think you can take anything for granted. I knew “Kickstarts” was a potentially massive song but you still need support from radio to ensure it does all the right damage.
You grew up listening to Hip-Hop and ultimately that influenced your musical direction. Who in particular had a real impact on you?
My favourite rapper when I was young was Snoop. I was about 11 or 12 when I was into him. Then I discovered A Tribe Called Quest and Slick Rick. Jay-Z and Kanye are prob my faves in recent years. They’ve been consistent.
In 2006 after you remixed Lily Allen’s Smile and renamed the song “Vile.” What made you choose to remix the track and what was Lily’s response?
I must’ve been asked this about 1,001 times. I bootlegged it cause I was unknown at the time and it got me lots of attention. Lily liked it."

Example Answers The 15 Questions We Ask Everyone
Hello there little monster, what are you up to?
I'm in a cab to the studio taking time out to answer these questions for you lovely people
So, tell me a bit about what you’re here to promote?
My single Last Ones Standing and my Album Won't Go Quietly. I'd promote my UK tour but it's sold out so seems pretty pointless
And if we didn’t have any clue as to who you were, what three words sum you up?
No. Eye. Deer
And as Jacko had the Moonwalk and Elvis had the snake hips, what do you have that makes you unique?
A big bottom lip
Now, clearly we need to get to know each other more, so tell me an interesting fact about you that noone else knows?
I once worked in the props department on Star Wars ep 3 and made lightsabers. I have a small collection that I made myself

Duck Sauce "Barbra Streisand"
Duck Sauce "Barbra Streisand"
Released 10th October 2010 by 3 Beat Records
Drum roll please as we give you not one, but two of the most in demand and talented DJ’s and Producers of our generation.
3 Beat are proud to announce our latest signing the duo of A-Trak and Armand Van Helden, collectively known as Duck Sauce.
A-trak started out as a hip-hop DJ winning the DMC World DJ Championship an incredible 5 times (the first aged 15). Since then he has managed to merge rap and electronic music via his label Fool’s Gold and has worked closely with Kanye West, Kid Cudi, DJ Am & Boys Noize.
Armand Van Helden is a household name and deservedly so. AVH has had countless number 1’s and created some of the biggest dance records and remixes EVER – You Don’t Know Me, Bonkers, My My My, Professional Widow etc.
Together they form a deadly duo and call themselves Duck Sauce.
You couldn’t escape their first single aNYway, it was an anthem last summer with DJ’s from across every genre smashing it out.
Now they are back in 2010 with Barbra Streisand. Since its arrival at the Miami Music Conference there has been a frenzy of DJ’s, record labels and clubbers all trying to get their hands on it.
And here you have it, an infectious peak time anthem that’s guaranteed to rock any party.
Barbra Streisand is disco house at its finest, whether you hear it in the clubs or on the radio it instantly puts a smile on your face and makes you move and that’s what dance music is all about!
***Ignore the dodgy bootlegs and remixes of this track. This is the official and only version*** Full video coming soon.

BBC Chart Blog Feature Example's Last Ones Standing
"We've all got friends for whom pop music is not a big thing. They might feel they're above it, or too old to get excited about it nowadays, as if the ears suddenly turn to cardboard once you're past a certain age. They still well up if a song has been used appropriately in a TV drama or a film, and they'll be up on the dance-floor with everyone else if the situation demands it, but otherwise it's not an abiding passion.
I also have friends like this, and we've never really felt the need to discuss or debate the issue. I'm into music, they're into cricket or literature or toast or whatever and that's just the way it is. However, recently there's been a change. Two of my non-music friends, entirely independently of each other, recently admitted to being rather partial to the songs of Example. They didn't even really know who he was, they just heard some tunes and decided they liked them.
Now, from a sample group of this size it is not possible to draw scientifically significant conclusions, but if it was, would that not rather suggest that Example's sonic stylings are stronger than normal music? Strong enough to break past years of indifference and avoidance?
Or would it just mean that he literally makes music for people who do not like music?"
