As one of the most feted dance artists of the decade, Eric Prydz has achieved immense critical and commercial acclaim. A household name with No.1 and No.2 UK hit singles under his belt, Prydz simultaneously turns out bleeding-edge house and techno for the world’s most respected dancefloors. Each release is an event; ‘Pjanoo’ is his next single, and we’re guessing you’ll have heard it by now…

As with every record that bears his name, ‘Pjanoo’, and its beautiful piano–led hook, first spread through the clubs and blogs like a virus. It was playlisted at Radio 1, Kiss, Capital and Galaxy over 2 months before release, and is currently one of the hottest pre-release singles of 2008. Plaudits to date include: Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune, Zane Lowe’s Single Of The Week, Record Of The Week for Jo Whiley, and numerous others.

His last single on Data, the ubiquitous ‘Proper Education’, had the official blessing of Pink Floyd; it became the soundtrack to a million dancefloors and took up residency on national daytime radio, while the video and its on-point eco message attracted newspaper headlines and primetime video slots alike. Greenpeace has also used it as part of their global campaign for the past year. ‘Pjanoo’ now looks set to continue what’s been an unrivalled run of landmark dance records.

Though he’s one of the world’s most respected DJ/producers, Brixton-based Prydz isn’t bothered by fame or chart hits (he’s never pursued a record deal or sent in a demo). Well-known for his independent ethos he’s turned the very notion of the ‘underground’ on its head. His three labels PRYDA, PRYDA FRIENDS and Mouseville are positively brimming with sought-after cuts, and between them spawn worldwide club smashes, new talent, and harder-edged techno alike.

Remixes come from Fred Falke, Guy J, and Afterlife.
